People have been enquiring about how the corona virus might affect the Raid and
whether it might be cancelled.
Your committee has been giving consideration to this and we are of the opinion that Raid
2020 should proceed as planned, if at all possible.
There are many reasons for this such as the fact that many raiders have booked air flights,
leave from work, arranged to ship cars etc.
Also the planning for the Raid has included booking of venues, paying deposits and other
arrangements.
Government rules and regulations at this point do not appear to prevent the successful
running of the Raid, although quarantining of incoming travellers arriving in Australia
could be a problem. We hope that this will be resolved before August.
Obviously, no-one can predict how quickly and how far the virus will spread in Australia
and how our governments will react to that.
As a committee, we will be monitoring the situation constantly to see how it might affect
the Raid, but please be assured that we will not cancel it unless it becomes absolutely
necessary due to factors beyond our control.
Cheers
