Cooling off in the middle of the road after 2 hours bogged in sand

In an attempt to provide the best information, we provide a lady’s view:

The first thing worthy of mention when you are considering clothes is the red dust. White and pale clothes will be coloured red and this may upset some.

Layers, layers, layers! Women have the hang of putting layers on, especially Europeans.

You are going to need clothes to suit from below zero at night and above 40 Celsius during the day.

Absolute musts are a warm jacket, pants and socks. Walking shoes. Sandals are not appropriate for desert conditions at night. Also good protection against creepy crawlies.

Shorts, tee shirts may be okay for some but a better option is lightweight, quick dry trousers and shirt. These allow for better airflow and in the end are much cooler. The zip off pants are a good option as they allow you to choose at any moment what is appropriate.

My one real suggestion is one nice dress or skirt of something that will not crush, does not need an iron, and will not mark. Choose something you can dress up with a piece of jewellery or down if a more casual effect is desired. Don't forget you will need a warm nice jacket or cardigan too just in case.

Women will always want to go somewhere nice if presented the opportunity and it is a real bugger if you have nothing to wear.
