This clearly illustrates that the load range for these sorts of vehicles is generally around 335kg and in the case of the vans, up to 435kg. Of course, regardless of the type of vehicle, they all exert the weight over the same four tyres on the ground. Normally it takes someone to have experienced the frustration to being uselessly bogged in the sand for a couple of hours to fully appreciate how important is the maximum weight issue.

That is 335kg for the people in the car, all your gear, your food, your water, your fuel and any weight that you add on in mechanical preparation.
